Winona other's words

She's not swayed by popular opinion, pressure or manipulation, and
I think that's why she's so successful, she really has a backbone and
makes decisions based on the right criteria. She doesn't do things
because she thinks it's good for her career or she'll make more money"

Somebody write a good lesbian movie role for Winona Ryder....please!

About Boys Don’t Cry and Hilary Swank:
See: Charlie Rose...on Girl Interrupted. Interviews Winona Ryder then Angelina Jolie

WR: I think that if she doesn’t win the Academy Award there is no justice. I think that she is absolutely wonderful. That was one of the Best performances I’ve ever seen given by an actress. I think…I really really mean that…I think it was one of the greatest performances ever given by an Actress. I’ve seen that movie six times …just watching her, watching all of the actors. All of the actors are brilliant …

CR: …When I saw the movie I thought about you.

WR: Really?

CR: Yeah…but you could have probably…you can’t take it, they did it, and probably did it better than anyone else could ever do…

WR: Yeah

CR: …and they just deserve…both the Director and star…deserve all the credit…as well as the others who participated in the process…but with your drive and your sense of story (then he says something I couldn’t make out - possibly “even with“) your own acting ability, it does seem to me the kind of story you could have handled.

WR: Wow…it’s so weird…recently a director said that…gave me that message and I was so surprised. Um…yeah, it would have been something I would have loved to have done…but I’m glad that it was an unknown because it was…

CR: Hilary Swank

WR: Yeah

CR: Fabulous yeah

WR: …and she’s just brilliant, she really is…

CR: …and maybe you’ll move her closer to the Academy Award with this kind of support and endorsement.

WR: …ah…yeah well she’s…she’s inspiring. She really…like her performance makes me wanna be a better actress, it makes me wanna act, it makes me wanna get back out there, it makes me wanna find a great role. You know she is an inspiring actress…to watch her…you know?

Winona Ryder...In her own words

I welcome turning 30 because I like approaching the beginning of
something instead of the end. I`m at a really good place and feel grounded.

Winona's now rapidly approaching her 40th Birthday
(she'll be 39 on 29th October 2010)
I hope she views this with the same lack of dread.

Life really DOES begin at 40.
